Goodbye Leighton

Well, I've almost finished work! Just under two hours to go, and the midwives haven't thrown me in the bath...yet! Lots of lovely cards and pressies, all of which are very thoughtful. Thank you especially to the labour ward staff for the silver St Christopher, which I'll wear and will refer to when necessary! 8 sleeps to go!

Farewell party

The Safari themed farewell party was fantastic. Thank you to everyone who came and played, dressed up as animals and hunters, Gorillas and missionaries, ate, drank, danced and were merry. Thank you for the gifts, cards and good wishes. I'm going to miss you guys immensely. Started packing yesterday. Things look a little strange in the flat, similar to when I first moved in and had nothing. It's beginning to feel a little more real now, and in all honesty I'm getting very nervous. I have absolutely no idea what to expect!

Well, the flights are booked - departing from Newcastle on August 12th! The big farewell party is on Saturday July 25th - SAFARI THEMED FANCY DRESS - at the flat. Would love to see you all there!

This is where I'll be posting up to date information on what I'm up to in Uganda. I anticipate that this will allow people to find out what I'm experiencing and also to stay in touch, without me bombarding their inbox! Will be heading out there in August 2009.
